Restraint of trade and breach of confidential information – successfully represented the purchaser of a business in circumstances where the vendor allegedly set up business in competition to the purchaser. George regularly acts in high profile restraint and confidential information cases.
Global publishing company – advised on a large scale restructure which resulted in a significant number of redundancies. No claims arose as a result.
Global software supplier – successfully updated and rolled out new employment contracts to their Australia and New Zealand work force.
Multinational IT company – assisted with the tender for a large scale government contract (which our client was successful in winning) and then negotiated with the relevant union for the transition of employees from the incumbent service provider.
Victorian Association for the Teaching of English – successfully represented employer in a Full Bench hearing of the Fair Work Commission which set precedent regarding procedural fairness and the role of support people in termination meetings.
Prominent hospitality business – acted in relation to the sale of the business and the subsequent negotiation for the client to operate the business under licence for the Purchaser; resulting in an extremely profitable arrangement.
Prominent sporting organisation – advised in the restructure of a multinational publicly owned business which involved the redeployment and redundancy of over 100 employees. No claims were made against the client.
