Jeffrey advises clients on insolvency issues and a wide range of commercial disputes. He is experienced in acting for liquidators, receivers and managers, administrators and creditors (secured and unsecured) in insolvency and restructuring matters.
Jeffrey also regularly represents clients across a broad spectrum of industries in complex disputes in the Supreme Court of NSW and the Federal Court of Australia, including in relation to shareholder disputes, breach of directors’ duties and contractual disputes.

Property holding and development company – in relation to defending substantial and complex proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia brought by a liquidator in relation to alleged voidable transactions.
Director and shareholder of an importing and distribution business – in relation to defending complex proceedings in the Supreme Court of New South Wales including claims for breach of directors’ duties, breach of restraints of trade, breach of contract and misleading or deceptive conduct.
Major shareholder of a national franchisor – in relation to lengthy and complex proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia involving claims of oppression of a minority shareholder, breach of directors’ duties and misleading or deceptive conduct.
Receiver and Manager – Prosecuting an application on behalf of a Receiver and Manager to protect privilege in respect of documents called upon for the purposes of a liquidator’s examination.
International and national publishers – Advising suppliers on retention of title issues following the appointment of external administrators to a large retail business.
Private family company – in relation to the restructuring of a considerable debt owed to it, including obtaining security for the restructured debt. This included further advice to the client on enforcement of that security upon further default, including the appointment of Receivers and Managers to recover the debt.
