From a young age, Chelsea decided she was going to be a lawyer and after developing a love for debating, her mind was made up. With an interest in architecture fostered by her husband’s line of work, Chelsea was enticed from a disputes focus to shift to project advice on construction projects which has seen Chelsea work in both front-end and disputes focused roles in the construction industry.
Having worked in-house over the past few years, she has gained incredible hands-on experience, from being involved in large scale projects that have given back to the community as well as numerous projects that have shaped the evolving Melbourne city skyline.
Working in-house in project roles has also given Chelsea a greater understanding of the various business drivers clients may be facing. Because of this, Chelsea’s advice is always strong and practical as she knows the decisions she is helping clients make will have long term impacts, on both the project and their business.
“In construction, every project is different – they each have their own challenges and it’s an ever-changing industry. Being involved in a project, in any way, is an honour and privilege, as is knowing these achievements will stand the test of time.”
In her various roles, Chelsea has been involved in construction projects from planning stages, early works, tender and bidding, head contract negotiations, project advice, adjoining owner issues, subcontracts and supply agreements, practical completion, handovers, defects and warranty issues.
