Intellectual Property team Consultant Kenneth Philp is one of only two lawyers to be named as “Luminaries” among IP lawyers in Australia in the latest WTR 1000 list by international publication World Trademark Review.

The list recognises firms and individuals for their outstanding work developing, implementing and protecting client brands through their trade marks.

Special Counsel Mark Metzeling was also recognised in the list, ranked Bronze for Prosecution and Strategy and recommended for Transactions.

Macpherson Kelley as a firm was ranked Bronze for Prosecution and Strategy.

Ken has worked in the intellectual property field for almost 40 years and established a reputation as one of the “go-to” lawyers in IP in Australia.

“To be named as one of Australia’s Luminaries among many distinguished peers in this field is humbling,” Ken said.

Mark said being listed in the WTR 1000 was welcome recognition for the firm’s efforts protecting what for many clients is their most valuable asset – their brand.

“The IP team manage more than 6,000 trade marks worldwide. Clients know when they come to us they have some of the best lawyers in the business looking after them.”

CEO Steve Parker congratulated Ken, Mark and the IP team on their inclusion in the WTR 1000.

“Ken, Mark and the IP team are a terrific group. Being listed in the WTR 1000 is recognition that their skills and expertise are world class and that clients can be confident they are in good hands.”
