Macpherson Kelley bolsters commercial talents with new Principal Lawyer and Special Counsel
Macpherson Kelley is pleased to announce the appointment of Corporate M&A Principal Lawyer Esteban Gomez and Special Counsel Jane Sun to their respective Commercial teams.
Highly regarded in his field, Esteban has 20 years’ of private practice and in-house experience in corporate transactions and advisory. Esteban’s expertise in advising companies at every stage of the life cycle will round out Brisbane’s diverse Commercial talents says National Managing Principal Lawyer Grant Guenther.
“Esteban will add to our strength in unregulated M&A for predominately medium and large private organisations. In addition to this, he will give us skills in regulated transactions and capital raising – from venture capital and start ups through to mature businesses,” said Grant Guenther.
Esteban is admitted to practice in Queensland, and is also a solicitor in England and Wales (non-practising) and an attorney in the USA (New York) (non-practising), and has sought-after experience in complex cross-border transactions.
“Esteban is known throughout the profession for his technical excellence, collaborative leadership and commercial approach to managing challenging work on tight timelines. I have no doubt he will fit seamlessly into our high-performing Brisbane office,” said Grant.
Also joining the Commercial practice ranks is Special Counsel Jane Sun. With Macpherson Kelley’s international experience and history advising Chinese businesses trading locally and Australian businesses trading overseas, Jane’s expertise is well-aligned with the Commercial team’s values and aspirations for the future.
Jane has over 20 years’ experience advising Chinese business enterprises on their global investment projects and specialises in cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
“I’ve seen Jane walk clients through the complexities of a commercial venture firsthand, and her patience and drive will be a massive drawcard for our client base at Macpherson Kelley,” said Special Counsel Linda Huan.
Both Jane Sun and Linda Huan will be sharing the role as co-head of Macpherson Kelley’s China Group.
“Jane goes the extra mile to ensure her clients’ success and our team is thrilled to work with someone that aligns so well with our expertise and values.”
