Macpherson Kelley has doubled down on expanding its Health and Safety service offering with the recent hire of reputable and experienced lawyers.

Special Counsel Alan Girle and Lawyer Eric Halden have started with the firm under the leadership of Principal Lawyer, John-Anthony Hodgens.

Alan Girle is a recognised expert in Work Health and Safety law with over 25 years’ experience. Alan has been recognised for four consecutive years in Doyle’s Guide as a “Leading Workplace Health & Safety Lawyer” and similarly recognised in Best Lawyers for “Occupational Health and Safety Law”.

Eric Halden rounds out the team bringing a unique skill set to Work Health and Safety offences with over a decade of practical legal experience and having attained a Specialist Accreditation in Criminal Law from the Queensland Law Society.

“The breadth of skill and knowledge that both Alan and Eric bring to the team significantly bolsters our service offering to clients,” Principal Lawyer John-Anthony Hodgens said.

Macpherson Kelley National Managing Principal Lawyer Grant Guenther commented on the impact of the firm’s investment in and broadening of its services within Work Health and Safety.

“Bold advice and industry insight will prove invaluable amidst the widespread uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. There are significant and complex implications for businesses within the Work Health and Safety space, so it is fitting to expand our services in this area.”

“Ultimately, the addition of experienced lawyers such as Alan and Eric is a demonstration of our resolve to improve on the quality of service we bring to all aspects of our clients’ businesses,” Grant said.
