Macpherson Kelley welcomes new Principal Lawyer to Melbourne’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution team
Macpherson Kelley is delighted to announce the appointment of Grant Walker as a new Principal Lawyer within Melbourne’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution team.
Grant’s reputation as a leading litigator is underpinned by his unique ability to pair his commercial and legal expertise with a client-focused approach. National Managing Principal Grant Guenther says this rare combination will make him a good fit for Macpherson Kelley and the wider Litigation team.
“We knew Grant would fit really well at Macpherson Kelley right from the start. His skill set, client profile and approach to service correspond with our values and approach perfectly. I’m confident his strategic thinking and the collaborative way he approaches his work will make a positive impact on the firm,” said Grant Guenther.
Grant Walker brings a wealth of experience to Macpherson Kelley, having worked on a wide array of high-profile and complex disputes. Predominantly advising medium to large businesses, he has specific expertise in banking and finance, director and shareholder disputes, insolvency and restructuring, property disputes and fraud and asset recovery.
With the share of companies entering insolvency rising sharply over the past couple of years, Macpherson Kelley’s Insolvency team has seen an increase in debt recovery and insolvency advice. Grant Guenther says the new Principal Lawyer’s experience in the area will help keep up with client demand.
“As our insolvency practice grows, Grant’s appointment should signal to clients and referrers that we are expanding our capabilities and expertise to address their needs,” said Grant Guenther.
Grant Walker said it was Macpherson Kelley’s no-nonsense, people-first approach that attracted him to the firm.
“Great service isn’t difficult to achieve when your values are aligned in the right way. It’s evident that Macpherson Kelley has done the work to understand what’s important – straight talking, good thinking and a deep understanding of their clients and their business,” said Grant Walker.
“Integrity is something I bring to my practice every day, so joining a firm that seeks out this fundamental attribute in its people, just makes sense to me,” he said.
