Making a splash – Macpherson Kelley assists leading pool heating manufacturer in sale to US firm
Macpherson Kelley has acted for pioneering Australian solar pool heating maker Sunbather Pty Ltd in its sale to US-based pool deck equipment manufacturer S.R. Smith.
Macpherson Kelley handled all aspects of the transaction on behalf of Sunbather, including due diligence, negotiations and contracts, through to settlement.
As part of the transaction, S.R. Smith also acquired a 50 per cent ownership stake in Aspire Energy Australia, a manufacturer of rigid solar panels.
The Macpherson Kelley team was led by Principal Lawyer Grant Guenther and included Senior Associate James McLaughlin and Lawyer James Brown.
“We’re pleased to have been part of this transaction which will see Sunbather enter the next stage of its growth,” said Grant.
Tom Boadle, CEO of Sunbather, will remain with the company as General Manager and COO of Sunbather.
Sunbather was established in Melbourne in 1974 and is a manufacturer and supplier of solar pool heating systems and pool covers for the domestic and commercial sectors.
SR Smith is a leading manufacturer of swimming pool deck equipment, lighting and access products headquartered in the US and with an office in Brisbane.
