recent experience

  • $7m acquisition of shopping centre

Amy managed the acquisition of a $7m shopping centre, including negotiating contractual terms with the seller, performing legal due diligence, reviewing the existing leases, and providing advice on a lease dispute with the major tenant.

  • Property development dispute

Amy acted for an investor to resolve a property development joint venture dispute they had with the property owner. The development ran over budget and was unable to be completed by the owner. The investor held a second mortgage over the property as security for the joint venture arrangement and exercised the power of sale. The owner then filed court proceedings alleging the property was not sold at market value in breach of section 85 of the Property Law Act. Amy defended the proceedings and then assisted her client to negotiate a commercial outcome for the dispute to be resolved.

  • Securing an anchor tenant

Amy assisted a significant landlord in securing an anchor tenant for their new development. The work involved preparation of an agreement for lease, the lease, and side agreements along with negotiations with the tenant’s solicitors.
