Hamish and his team assisted two large not for profit organisations in the acquisition of a substantial portfolio of South Australian Retirement Villages. The matter required a high level of collaboration between both purchasers through the due diligence, negotiation and completion of the uniquely structured transaction dealing with substantial landholdings, resident interests and specialist aspects of statutory compliance and State taxes.
When Hamish’s long-term client pursued a sale of a large equity holding in their business to a private equity fund, he advised and assisted the shareholder group in navigating this sale process. Working closely with other professional advisors, the advice and assistance spanned a range of areas including business succession planning, employee incentives, governance documentation and future exit planning.
