Macpherson Kelley is pleased to congratulate Principal Lawyer Louisa Dicker on being appointed to the Board of Environmental Health Professionals Australia (EHPA).

The EHPA represents environmental health workers who are focused on preventing, controlling and reducing public health risks to the general community. They are generally employed in local government and have responsibility for issues such as disease prevention, food safety, pest control, waste management, environmental pollution, housing standards and public health emergency response.

Louisa has been a member of the EHPA for eight years and is a regular speaker on environmental health legal issues at its annual symposium.

She has practised in environmental health advice and prosecution work for 10 years, acting for many local councils around Victoria.

“Working in the public health space offers many rewards as there’s an element of doing something ‘for the greater good’. You’re focussed on preventing, controlling and reducing health risks in the community,” Louisa said.

The EHPA is a national organisation with around 700 members.
