Macpherson Kelley facilitates key acquisition for Height 4 Hire
In a landmark Queensland deal concluded on December 6, Macpherson Kelley’s Commercial and Tax teams played a key role in facilitating the acquisition of Global Hire & Services by Height 4 Hire. The transaction, which settled for an undisclosed sum, solidifies Height 4 Hire’s position as the largest privately owned access equipment hire business in Queensland, with physical locations in Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns.
Contributing to this achievement underscores Macpherson Kelley’s commitment to supporting the growth of Queensland-owned and operated businesses.
The acquisition, led by corporate transactions Principal Lawyer Esteban Gomez, Principal Lawyer and National Head of Tax John Ioannou, Special Counsel Elizabeth Allen and Lawyer Grace Hooper marks a significant milestone for both businesses.
Highlighting the challenging nature of the acquisition, Esteban stated “Dealing with multiple arms’ length sellers presented a unique hurdle, effectively making this a dual transaction. Our team navigated this complexity to ensure a seamless and successful outcome for Height 4 Hire.”
Having joined Macpherson Kelley in April 2023, Esteban is no stranger to M&A transactions, bringing over two decades of experience advising medium to large organisations in M&A transactions.
Esteban and Grace advised on corporate transactional issues, with John Ioannou and Elizabeth Allen advising on tax structuring issues.
“We are proud of acting for Height 4 Hire in the acquisition of Global Hire & Services and playing a small part in cementing their status as the premier access equipment hire business in Queensland. This transaction strategically positions Height 4 Hire for unparalleled growth in the market,” says Esteban.
