After commencing her legal career as a graduate lawyer at Macpherson Kelley, Stella Fordham quickly realised her aspirations in employment law and joined the Employment, Safety and Migration team soon after.

Whilst Stella enjoys working across all areas of employment law, her focus is on assisting clients with employment disputes and resolutions.
Stella assisted a high-profile athlete to reach a confidential settlement with his former employer after a public legal battle concerning the termination of his employment. The client was terminated by his former employer for alleged misconduct arising out of his activity on social media. With our assistance, the client was able to resolve the unlawful termination claim without the time and stress associated with prolonged litigation.
Stella helped facilitate the exit of a senior executive from their employment after being subjected to bullying and harassment in the workplace. The client was able to separate from the business on a commercial basis, as a result of a confidential settlement arrangement.
Stella and the team were able to avoid an unfair dismissal hearing at the Fair Work Commission, including extensive cross-examination of a corporate client and its employees. Stella assisted in preparing a comprehensive response and extensive evidence, which ultimately led to the applicant agreeing to withdraw the claim.
Stella and the team successfully restrained a former contractor of a client from soliciting customers away from the business. As a result of our correspondence, the client was able to retain its customers and avoid significant financial loss associated with a breach of the restraints.
