Macpherson Kelley are thrilled to announce that Cathy Russo and Kelly Dickson, Managing Principal Lawyers at Macpherson Kelley, have been recognised in Australasian Lawyer’s annual Elite Women list.

The Elite Women list honours exceptional female leaders who have been influential within their field and demonstrated a passion for the law.

Both Cathy and Kelly are renowned experts within their fields, serving as Managing Principal Lawyers in Brisbane and Dandenong, respectively. They also contribute to Macpherson Kelley’s National agenda through their involvement in the Executive Team

With a fierce determination to achieve commercial outcomes for her clients, Cathy was also named as a Finalist in the 2023 Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year awards in the Banking and Finance category. Cathy has been with Macpherson Kelley in Brisbane since the beginning and has earned her stripes in the banking and finance industry. Notably, Cathy brings a personal commitment to achieving work life balance and openly supports her own team in following in her footsteps.

“Managing work life and home life can be a constant balancing act, but it’s possible when you feel supported in your team. This achievement reflects our firm’s commitment to creating an environment where women can thrive”, says Cathy.

Kelly is the Managing Principal of the Dandenong office, where she leads her practice group and the wider Dandenong team with passion and enthusiasm. Her strong leadership style expects “no-holds-barred” accountability from others, and has had a remarkable impact on Macpherson Kelley’s Dandenong office. She has championed a culture of diversity and empowerment and is proud to lead an office that has a majority of women in leadership positions – a testament to Kelly’s unwavering commitment to fostering gender equality in the legal profession.

“I hope to encourage the next generation of female lawyers and prove that gender is not an impediment to achieving career goals”, says Kelly.
