Macpherson Kelley staff wear pyjamas to work to support children in need!
On Friday 22 July, clients may get a surprise when they visit Macpherson Kelley’s offices; staff will be wearing pyjamas! The Macpherson Kelley Foundation has teamed up with the Pyjama Foundation to increase awareness and raise funds for children in foster care. Currently, there are over 43,000 children in foster care throughout Australia. Many of these children will experience difficulty with literacy and numeracy skills and self-confidence. “People might think it’s a bit zany for a law firm to come to work in onesies and ugg boots but that’s what I love about Macpherson Kelley, we are commercial and we work hard, but we also maintain a sense of fun and of corporate social responsibility. The Macpherson Kelley Foundation was created exactly for this purpose, to enable our staff to support causes that we are passionate about and to make a real difference for those in need,” says Damian Paul, Executive Chairman.
The Foundation is a public ancillary fund brought into existence to provide an effective way for Macpherson Kelley and its clients to engage with and provide financial and other support to the community across a variety of charitable causes. Macpherson Kelley also provides a suite of complementary services to our clients and their businesses which enable them to achieve their philanthropic goals. “Philanthropy can be a confusing space and it takes a lot to cut through the noise,” says Jo Hastings, Foundation Manager, “the services that we provide can help to simplify the options available and develop a meaningful and effective strategy for giving.”
“We hope our efforts inspire others to get on board with National Pyjama Day and help raise awareness and funding to develop the learning skills and overall wellbeing for children in foster care,” says Damian Paul, Executive Chairman.
