Macpherson Kelley Special Counsel Mark Metzeling has been appointed to the board of the Queensland Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The QJCCI aims to support the development of commerce, trade and investment opportunities between Japan and Queensland.

Mark, who’s based in Macpherson Kelley’s Brisbane office, says he’s thrilled to join the board and help drive stronger connections between Japan and Queensland.

“Queensland and Japan have a long history in terms of business and investment,” he says.

“My sister was fortunate to live and work in Japan for a number of years.  I visited her as often as possible as I enjoyed learning about Japan’s culture and exploring its breathtaking scenery.

“Japan feels like a second home for my family.”

Japan is Australia’s second largest export market with goods exports worth $59.1 billion in 2018-19.

Mark’s term on the board is for 12 months. Macpherson Kelley is a premium member of the QJCCI.
