For this reason, it’s great news that the UAE will be joining the Madrid Protocol international trade mark system from 28 December 2021, becoming its 109th member.

The Madrid Protocol is a centralised system for international trade mark registration, operated by the World Intellectual Property Organization in Switzerland. The UAE’s accession to the Madrid Protocol promises to streamline the registration process, making registration in the UAE more accessible for Australian businesses.
