Rita worked with a start up business to protect their new software and app. As the project was in its infancy, Rita worked with the client to develop a comprehensive IP protection strategy, including undertaking searches on potential brand names, drafting Contractor Services Agreements and NDA’s for the protection of IP being developed and testing by third parties.
Rita liaised with patent attorneys on any other IP registrations that may be required for the platform. The IP protection strategy also included working with the client’s accountant to develop a corporate structure for the business, including ownership of IP. Rita adopted a holistic approach to the client’s brand and business. This meant once the app and software launched the client had the right corporate structure in place and as well as the necessary IP registrations to protect their significant investment in the business and to protect the client from third party infringers.
