Adam advised independent school board directors around the termination of the school’s Principal, providing the clients with a strategy on how to execute the Principal’s removal. Managing various relationship tensions as well as the timing of the exit, Adam’s strategic advice saw the termination coincide with the school holidays, minimising the disruption during the school term. Adam was also able to resolve this matter without the school having to pay further compensation to the exiting Principal. This was important to the clients are they were concerned it could send a message to other staff about performance and a message to the school community about the Board, regarding their management of staff appointments.
A client had experienced significant growth in its services and staff but it had not evolved its employment framework to match this growth. By understanding the client’s goal to streamline its frameworks and operations, Adam successfully consolidated various sections of the client’s operations. This included managing union representatives while redeploying staff to different roles, making some managers redundant, performance managing out other staff, and classifying staff correctly in line with Award rates of pay. Adam and team helped implement new employment contracts with uniform conditions and tailored provisions to meet the ongoing training and registrations needs. This resulted in cost reductions and increased consistency and efficiency in the client’s business.
Adam found a practical solution for a CEO who had been offered a new employment contract an opportunities in a new business but was at risk of breaching a restraint of trade agreement. Understanding the client’s need to move without restriction, Adam recommended a strategic move to a competitor that effectively worked around the restraint provisions and allowed the client to move on to a new career.
